Trillian - Kit

Description

Trillian is the leading female character in Douglas Adams‘ great book “The Hitchhiker‘s Guide to the Galaxy“. She‘s a mathematician and astrophysicist, and if she took up knitting, no doubt she would enjoy the unusual construction of this shawlette.

The fishnet-lace border on both short sides of the triangle adds just a bit of femininity without being frilly. Manageable even for beginning knitters. We are showing it here made from Malabrigo Sock; Colorway Aniversario.

Designed by Martina Behm, this simple but stylish shawl is knitted starting at one corner, adding wider and wider rows, thereby forming a long, narrow, slightly asymmetrical triangle. Just perfect for wrapping around your neck several times or hug your shoulders with a little warmth. Due to the shallow-but-long shape, you will get something useful to wear, no matter how much yarn you have. The designer suggests saving 7% of your yarn for the open-work bind-off.

This kit includes two skeins of Malabrigo Sock and a pattern. The pattern suggests 547 - 574 yards. And the Malabrigo skeins are 440 yards each. We made ours with just one skein and, we think its absolutely perfect! So, you can make two (slightly smaller) shawls with different colorways or one (slightly larger) shawl with matching skeins. You will be asked to select the colorways for both skeins when you add this to your cart.

This pattern is included as a kit and includes two skeins of Malabrigo Superwash Merino yarn carefully dyed in gorgeous colorways that bloom to perfection. A perfect pattern, a perfect design, and a perfect project.

An email from our Ravelry account will be sent to you with the pattern.
